Part 1: The Chasm

Daniel stood at the edge and glanced across the chasm.  There was no way over.  It didn't really bother him though, for he did not want to cross.  After-all, he was happy with life on this side not to mention the wise man had advised him not to attempt to bridge the gap.  "every man who has tried has fallen short", he had told Daniel.

As he began to move away from the edge he looked back toward the way from which he had come.  It did seem unnatural and debase didn't it?

Nonetheless, Daniel slowly shuffled back down the wide beaten path that lead to the village.

10 steps. 15 steps.

He stopped.

No matter how hard he tried, Daniel could not disregard the unshakable drawing sensation that seemed to emanate from the other side of the chasm...

(hopefully I can put the rest of this up over the next week or so)
